Packing Peanuts
Styrofoam Peanuts are an excellent insulation supply for moving or shipping all sorts of things. They are inexpensive yet very effective for preventing damage to fragile items.
However, because of their tendancy to move during transit, there are some objects that Packing Peanuts should not be used to insulate. This includes:
- Dishes, Glassware, China - Since these fragile objects can be heavy and flat, they have a tendancy to move sideways during a rough ride and may colide with eachother or the sides of the box. Packing Paper, like Kraft Paper and Newsprint, is usually the best option for shipping these types of items.
- Small Electronics - PDA's, cellphones anf other electronic devices can be too small to be held in place with styrofoam peanuts. Bubble Wrap or Bubble Lined Mailers are the most effective for keeping small objects in place.
